1975生。兵庫県姫路市出身。宝塚造形芸術大学絵画コース卒業。
同大学で前衛芸術家 嶋本昭三〈元・具体美術協会〉に師事し「誰もやっていない事をやる」という具体の精神を学び、在学中にセメントを用いた作風を見出した。
無機質で空虚なセメントには世に起こる「負や陰」のネガティブな意を投影させており、そこへ対照的な生命力あふれる彩りを与える事で 「正や陽」のポジティブな意識へと転化させ、現代人の心に「生きる希望」を呼び醒ます事をコンセプトに、心豊かな未来を願いながら作品を生み出している。

ARTIST Miu (b. 1975)
Born in 1975, ARTIST Miu is a Contemporary artist, graduated from Takarazuka University of Art and Design. ARTIST Miu studied under Shozo Shimamoto who is the co-founder of the former GUTAI Art Association. Cement is the main material in ARTIST Miu’s artistic creation. ARTIST Miu render cement a touch of vitality and transforms a mundane and raw material into colourful and scrupulous works that awaken “hope”. Currently living and working in Japan, ARTIST Miu has exhibited in Taiwan, France, and other countries, including solo exhibitions, group exhibitions, spatial art and public art projects.
